Directions from
the México-U.S.A. border:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
By car
- From San Diego
or LA: Head southbound on Interstate 5 or 805, depending on where you're coming
from. The 805 eventually rejoins Interstate 5 a few miles before the border.
Once you cross the border into Tijuana, stay on the 2 farthest left hand lanes.
- About 150 ft
from crossing the border, you will see the following signs: Centro downtown,
Rio Tijuana Rio Zone and Aeropuerto USA return, (take Centro downtown 3rd
st. Calle 3ra)
- Stay where the
red lines are located. Follow the signs that take you down town, to 3rd st
(Calle 3ra). This path will take you down a curve that goes counter clockwise,
left (see image 2).
- Once you finish
the counter clockwise curve, you will enter 3rd street, as shown on image
2 with the red line.
- Keep going straight
. Once you reach your 4th traffic light (Revolution ave.), make a left turn
on that light.
- Go straight
on Revolution ave. You will see that the cross street numbers increase (4th
st, 5th street, 6th street, etc.)
- The Jai Alai
Building is located between 7th and 8th street on Revolution ave. Make a left
turn on 8th street from Revolution. There are two parking facilities, one
behind the Jai Alai building and one across the street. It is highly recomended
that you park your car inside one of the Parking lots to prevent any unwanted
problems. The parking prices range from \\$1 per hour or $5 for the entire night.
If you walk across
the Border...
- You're best
bet for transportation to the Jai Alai building is if you take a Yellow cab
from the border straight to the Jai Alai. The yellow cabs are located about
150 ft from the border and charge you about 5 Dollars for a ride to the Jai
Alai building.
- Blue cabs are
located across the street from the Jai Alai and all over downtown Tijuana
for when you decide to return home and they to charge 5 dollars for a ride
to the border.
- Mexicoach, the
big red bus, and other special buses are also a great way to get to the Jai
Alai Building. You can catch the Bus on the U.S., directly across the border
(Next to the Trolley station) and they will take you directly in to downtown
Tijuana, about half a block from the Jai Alai Building. They charge 1 Dollar
one way, and \\$1.50 for a round trip ticket. The only negative to the MexiCoach
is that they close at 9:00pm, so you will have to show up early and leave
before 9:00pm if you want to get the round trip fair, but since all events
are at night is most certain that you have to take a cab back to the border.
